KEEP THE THROTTLE POSITION CONSTANT FOR LONGER PERIODS. You can lock the throttle at any preferred position, even between levels. This relieves the strain on your index finger during longer periods of continual use.
FOR EASY MANOEUVRABILITY. The short and compact design and the central positioning of the engine, blower and battery result in a very low moment of inertia; that means it is very easy to swivel and move the tool, and so you can work more effectively and for longer.
FOR STRENGTH-SAVING AND FATIGUE-FREE WORK. The angled design of the tool means that there is no rotational impact on the wrist. The blower tube and the handle are in line so that no torque is transferred to the handle. This means that, even when switching on, there is no pulse generated which must be corrected manually. So you benefit by being able to do your work with less effort and fatigue.
TO QUICKLY SWITCH TO MAXIMUM BLOWING FORCE. Extra pressure on the trigger switch of your STIHL blower immediately activates maximum blowing force. This happens regardless of the pre-selected power level and without having to change your grip position.
FOR SAFE STORAGE. The power tool has an integrated carrying ring. This allows you to store your power tool safely and compactly.
LOW-MAINTENANCE AND EFFICIENT. Thanks to its compact design, low weight and high efficiency, the EC engine enables you to work in an energy efficient manner. This engine also has a long service life.
SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.
INTEGRATION INTO STIHL CONNECTED. The power tool is compatible with the Smart Connector, meaning it can be integrated into the STIHL connected system. Once you have attached a Smart Connector to the power tool, after one-time commissioning it will record the power tool’s operating hours and transmit them to the STIHL connected App via Bluetooth. In addition to displaying the operational time, the app also provides an overview of all necessary maintenance, ensuring that you do not overlook important upkeep and that your power tool is always in a ready-to-use condition.

The BGA 160 is a battery-powered blower in STIHL’s AP System, designed for professional landscapers and features excellent manoeuvrability combined with plenty of blowing performance. With a maximum blowing force of 21 Newtons, the power of the BGA 160 sits above the BGA 86 and below the BGA 250 handheld leaf blowers and outperforms both the BG 56 and BG 86 petrol handheld leaf blowers.
The BGA 160 has a compact size, is lightweight and has impressive power, making it ideal for working quickly and around tight obstacles when clearing small areas of leaves and hedge clippings – making it an ideal tool for every landscaper’s fleet. The BGA 160 can be used by both left and right-handed users, and thanks to the angle of the handle, it means you won’t experience strain on your wrist and arm. It also keeps the tool steady when used on maximum power, meaning you can control the blower with ease. The battery’s location underneath the impeller and handle means the BGA 160 is perfectly balanced, with no tipping required to get the right angle.
The BGA 160 has a variable speed trigger with a built-in boost mode, for temporarily increasing to maximum power when clearing stubborn patches of wet leaves. Selecting one of the three power settings helps to match the blowing power to the job at hand, which lets you get the best from the battery. Cruise control can be used when working on longer jobs and a shoulder harness can be attached to the leaf blower which takes the weight from your hand. As it is battery-powered, you don’t need to wear ear defenders when using the BGA 160.
The working time with the recommended AP 300 S battery ranges from 15-110 minutes, depending on the power level used.
